Bitter cold temperatures forecast for the metro-east on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
The metro-east continues under a wind chill advisory until noon Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
The forecast calls for the temperature to be around zero Sunday night with the wind chill as low as -20. Wind chill is the same as the ``feels like” temp on your weather app.
On Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, highs are expected to be around 11 across the region, with wind chill as low as -15 below. Monday night, lows are expected to be around 1, with -16 wind chill.
“After another brutally cold morning tomorrow featuring wind chills between -10 and -30 degrees, temperatures will improve slightly yet again, with actual temperatures finally climbing above 0 degrees area-wide by the afternoon. Still, persistent westerly winds will continue to generate dangerous wind chill values in many areas throughout the day in spite of the modest improvement,” said the latest Area Forecast Discussion on the National Weather Service site.
