Two women killed in metro-east car crash, according to St. Clair County coroner

Two women were killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle accident in the 1100 block of Hartman Lane in Shiloh, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Lana Watson, 60, of Chatham Drive, Shiloh, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dye said.

The second victim was Carol Isbell, 82, of West Julie Street, Shiloh, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:31 p.m., Dye said.

An autopsy is pending, Dye said.

Shiloh Police Chief Rich Wittenauer said police received a call about three-vehicle accident at Hartman Lane and Haverford Drive at 8:39 p.m..

The women were traveling south in a car on Hartman Lane, as was one of the other vehicles, the chief said. The third vehicle was traveling north. The women’s car crossed into the northbound lane , the chief said.

Wittenauer said the people in the other two vehicles were treated at an area hospital and released. Their identities were not released.

He said the Metro-east Crash Assistance Team is handling the investigation.
