Tired of unseasonably cool weather? You’ll love the next few days
A string of several sunny and cooler than usual days will come to an end after a pleasant Friday.
A hot and steamy weekend is on the way, according to the National Weather Service.
On Friday, skies will be sunny with a high of 87. Overnight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 70.
But things will be much more like metro-east residents expect in late July starting Saturday when the high temperature will reach 90 and the heat index will crack into triple digits.
A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast both during the day and evening Saturday with a slight chance storms could become severe.
The chance for strong winds exists and heavy downpours of rain are expected.
The low Saturday night will be 75.
The chance of thunderstorms will increase to 50 percent Sunday when the high will be 91 and the heat index will again surpass 100.
Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. The low will be 75.
It will be even hotter Monday with a high of 94 and a 20 percent chance of storms.
On Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny and 95.
