Gigi’s Gelato & Italian Market, located at 1407 W. Highway 50, in O’Fallon, is in the process of closing after more than a year in business.

An April 23 post on the business’ Facebook page includes a photo of the storefront with signage on the windows stating, “Store closing. Everything on sale.”

“If you haven’t heard the news, Gigi’s is closing. We are selling everything in the store up to 75% off, so come on in and grab what you can!” stated the post.

Owners Aaron and Jennifer Hudson were not immediately available for comment and messages have not yet been returned.

Gigi’s Gelato & Italian Market opened in early 2023 at the former Orange Leaf frozen yogurt bar, also owned by the Hudsons.

Gigi’s features a gelato parlor, an olive oil and balsamic tasting bar, and a variety of fresh, frozen and dry gourmet Italian foods.

In June 2023, they launched Catering by Gigi, offering foods including sub sandwich platters, salads and pans of pasta.

In a call to the store, an employee did say that Gigi’s will remain open until they’re sold out.

Hours are currently 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

For more information, call the business at 618-726-2010.
