IDOT to host high-speed rail open house in Godfrey

The Illinois Department of Transportation is scheduled to host a public meeting for the Illinois High-Speed Rail Chicago to St. Louis program to present information about at-grade crossing improvements in Madison and Jersey counties.

The meeting, which is planned to be an open house, is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus 1713 Stamper Lane, Godfrey.

A discussion is planned on work associated with the crossings including construction at and adjacent to the railroad tracks, the installation of safety crossing protection features, and additional roadway improvements, such as drainage work and utility relocations, IDOT said.

Attendees will have the opportunity to review exhibits and meet with study team representatives, IDOT said. A brief presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
