Opening date set for new Burlington store in Fairview Heights. What customers can expect
As progress at Fairview Center moves along, Burlington Stores, Inc., announced its new Fairview Heights store will open in the fall.
Burlington, which will be located at the former Bed Bath & Beyond at 6611 N. Illinois St., is moving from its longtime home at 1 Plaza Drive at the Marketplace Shopping Center.
The store’s manager, Ryan Arnold, said the grand opening at the new location will be Friday, Oct. 18.
Arnold was not able to give details about the move, including whether the current store would close for a short time during the transition.
The new store will feature “Burlington’s reimagined store layout and new store logo ‘Deals. Brands. WOW!’” and will provide a “better and more enjoyable shopping experience,” according to the release.
Merchandise at the Fairview Center store will include well-priced ladies’ apparel and accessories, menswear that includes an assortment of big and tall, kids clothing, footwear, baby clothing and supplies, home décor and pet care and toys.
In addition, Burlington is always looking for new “talent to join their growing company,” stated the release.

Making accommodations
The BND reported in January that both Burlington and Golf Galaxy would relocate from Marketplace Shopping Center at 1 Plaza Drive and 17 Plaza Drive, respectively, to the former Bed Bath & Beyond, which closed in January 2023.
First steps of the development included the downsizing of the existing DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse by 10%, making room in the building for four tenants instead of three. This part of the project was completed earlier this year.
The Bed Bath & Beyond facade became the Burlington entrance, and a new facade was added between Burlington and Ulta Beauty to accommodate Golf Galaxy.

Burlington Coat Factory opened at Marketplace Shopping Center opened Aug. 30, 1986, according to an item in the Sept. 10, 1986, Belleville News-Democrat.
“We offer a full line of clothing for the entire family, including men’s suits and over 6,000 women’s coats,” store manager George Seaton stated at the time.
Burlington Fairview Heights continues to operate at 1 Plaza Drive. Hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
