Pedestrian struck, killed at Madison County intersection

A pedestrian died after being hit by a car early Monday morning at a Madison County intersection.

The car crash happened around 12:14 a.m. on Illinois Route 3 at Piasa Lane in Hartford, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

The state agency said the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No additional information about the crash or the victim’s identity was released on Monday.
