Business briefing: 4204 Main Street Brewing growing beyond its namesake

A Belleville microbrewery is expanding its operations beyond its original walls.

The 4204 Main Street Brewing Co. is converting the building next door, at 4130 W. Main St., into a beer canning site. The building had been a Popeye’s restaurant.

Meanwhile, the main building at 4204 W. Main St. is undergoing an expansion that will soon increase its on-site brewing capacity.

Consumer spending bolstered the U.S. economy during the spring as the country’s total output of goods and services increased by 2.3 percent. Consumer spending grew at an annual rate of 2.9 percent during the second quarter, which was a noteworthy rebound from the 1.8 percent growth recorded during the first quarter. Read more here.
