Red Bud-area farmer Kirk Liefer was named to the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program Class of 2016. Liefer recently participated in the three-day media relations seminar at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

Perry J. Browder, a shareholder at Simmons Hanly Conroy law firm in Alton, has been elected as second vice president of the Illinois Bar Foundation. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association and raises funds for Illinois nonprofit organizations that provide free legal services to those with limited means and assistance to lawyers who can no longer support themselves due to incapacity.

Trial and personal injury lawyer Patrick King, of the King Law Firm in Alton, has launched a series of videos to answer consumer questions, as they try to understand the often confusing fundamental elements of personal injury lawsuits and criminal defense cases.
