Power out near SWIC

Firefighters are in the St. Clair Village neighborhood near Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville Wednesday morning.

According to residents, the power is out there after a series of explosions at about 6:25 a.m. The blasts were believed to be from power transformers.

One resident said he heard transformers blow eight times.
