St. Clair County clerk to send out new voter registration cards
Because the St. Clair County Board recently redrew and consolidated several precincts in Caseyville, St. Clair, Centreville and Canteen townships, the county clerk’s office is set to mail out new voter registration cards in the affected areas.
About 14,200 registered voters will be sent new registration cards, the clerk’s office said.
The clerk’s office asks registered voters to retain their new voters registration card if all the information is correct. There will be directions on the back of the card if information is incorrect, the clerk’s office said.
If residents receive a voter’s registration card for an individual who does not reside at the address, they are asked to write on the card “DOES NOT RESIDE AT THIS ADDRESS” and give it back to the mail carrier. College students may continue to be registered from their home address, as long as they are not registered in another county.
If a person is deceased, people who receive the card are asked to write “DECEASED” on the card and return it back to the mail carrier, the clerk’s office said.
People with questions should call 618-277-6600, ext. 2379.
