Lambert Airport MetroLink station reopens Friday, ahead of schedule

The MetroLink station at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Terminal 1 is expected to reopen at 3 p.m. Friday, ahead of schedule, Metro said.

Rehabilitation work at the MetroLink station had been slated to be completed by Sunday.

When the station reopens Metro passengers will be able to access MetroLink trains from the Terminal 1 station, and will no longer need to use the airport’s shuttles to travel between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

This is the first major rehabilitation of that station at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport since it originally opened in 1994, Metro said. Crews repainted the station, repaired concrete, added safety tactile strips to the platform edge, installed new lights and an upgraded electrical system.
