St. Clair County to announce new MidAmerica flight destination
St. Clair County officials on Tuesday are scheduled to announce the addition of a new flight destination from MidAmerica Airport.
According to a news release, officials will provide “details of an exciting service destination that will soon be available to individuals throughout the St. Louis area.”
The news release did not provide any other specifics about Tuesday’s 11:30 a.m. news conference.
MidAmerica, which has a joint-use agreement with Scott Air Force Base, is run by St. Clair County.
The St. Clair County Public Building Commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday prior to the news conference at the airport to vote on an amendment to the Airport’s Marketing and Use Agreement, according to the meeting agenda.
Phone calls to Airport Director Tim Cantwell and County Board Chairman Mark Kern were not immediately returned Friday.
Allegiant Air, the airport’s lone airline, currently offers flights from MidAmerica to destinations in Florida, including Orlando/Sandford and Tampa.
