Fairview Heights Police: Buckey’s BP robbed at gunpoint

The Buckey’s BP gas station at 10040 Lincoln Trail was robbed by a gunman Friday morning, police said.

Police were called about 5:25 a.m. by the gas station clerk who described the suspect as a black man who wore a black hoodie, black pants, gloves, a bandana over his face and white/red shoes. He brandished a black semiautomatic rifle and demanded money from the cash register.

“Once the clerk complied, the suspect fled on foot east from the gas station towards Phillips Drive,” police said.

The suspect was described as a 17- to 25-year-old man, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, with a slim build between 145 and 175 pounds.

No one was hurt, police said.
