ID of metro-east woman who died after hitting guardrail is released
The St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 44-year-old Alton woman who died Tuesday morning after crashing into a guardrail in St. Louis County.
Eileen Campbell, who resided on the 200 block of Madison Avenue, was driving a 2025 Honda CRV westbound on Interstate 64 near Big Bend Boulevard when the vehicle went off the road and struck a guardrail around 12:40 a.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report says.
Campbell was transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital by the Richmond Heights Fire Department. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2:45 a.m.
The crash report does not specify what caused Campbell’s vehicle to veer off the roadway.
