Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Fairview Heights, police say
A 33-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Fairview Heights remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to a press release from the police department.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was crossing the intersection at St. Clair Avenue and 3rd Avenue outside of a designated crosswalk and against the traffic signal, the police said. The pedestrian was unresponsive at the scene and transported to a local hospital, the release said.
The driver is fully cooperating with the Fairview Police Department, the release stated. The case is currently under investigation.
