Funeral services set for metro-east teen killed in UTV crash

Funeral services have been set for an Edwardsville High School student killed in a UTV crash.

Brandon Brewer, 14, of Edwardsville died in the crash, according to media reports.

The crash happened at 4:22 a.m. Saturday when a Polaris Razor UTV overturned as it was traveling west on Maple Road at the intersection of Illinois 157 north of Edwardsville, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

Three in the UTV were ejected from the vehicle.

Police said a 14-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and two other passengers were transported to a hospital with injuries.

No other information about the crash was released by state police.

Brewer’s obituary states he was preparing for his sophomore year at Edwardsville High School.

“His quick wit and cheeky grin could turn the most ordinary day into an adventure,” the obituary states. “As we say goodbye, we remember him not in sadness, but with gratitude-for every smile, every prank, every spontaneous moment he created.”

The visitation will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home at 304 N. Main St. in Edwardsville and the funeral service is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
