Pedestrian remains in critical condition after Friday hit-and-run

O’Fallon Police say a pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run late Friday night.

The victim is a 35-year-old male who police say is from the local area, but gave no additional information about his identity. He remained in critical condition in a St. Louis-area hospital as of Sunday morning, according to police.

Police received a call about 11:50 p.m. Friday regarding a pedestrian down in the roadway in the 1400 block of North Greenmount Road.

“The investigation revealed the victim was struck by a vehicle, which had fled the scene,” said Lt. James Cavins.

Police asked that anyone with information contact the O’Fallon Police Department at 624-4545.

The investigation was continuing Sunday.

“Detectives are sifting through video, trying to put together a timeline,” Cavins said Sunday morning.

The scene of the hit-and-run is near the O’Fallon Assembly of God Church and the Hilton Garden Inn hotel, just north of Interstate 64.
