Storms likely to start new week

After a pleasant and dry weekend, the metro-east will spend the first half of the new week dodging thunderstorms.

There is a 30 percent chance of storms in the forecast for Monday when the high will be 88, according to the National Weather Service.

The most likely time for wet weather will be after 3 p.m.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms Monday night when the low will be 69.

On Tuesday, the chance of storms will increase to 40 percent. Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day with a high of 84.

There is a 60 percent chance of storms Tuesday night when the low will be 70.

It will be much cooler Wednesday with a high of 79 and a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Wednesday night the low will be 58 with a 30 percent chance of rain.
