The Corner Chill and Grill opening soon in Belleville

A Belleville establishment that has been known by many names and owners is under new ownership.

The restaurant and bar at 341 Centreville Ave. has been renamed The Corner Chill and Grill. Interior and exterior remodeling, which includes a new outdoor deck, is wrapping up.

New owners Cassandra Staley and Paul Staley Jr. hope to open as soon as this weekend. Stay tuned.

Rams fans going to a game this season will see a new addition to the lineup of food venues at the dome. The Gamlin Whiskey House Club at the Edward Jones Dome provides “a suite with the upscale restaurant and bar experience.” You can also visit Gamlin Whiskey House in the Central West End.

The Bank of Belleville has opened its new downtown building. The newly constructed 10,000-square-foot bank at 215 S. Illinois St. opened last week and replaces the former 8,000-square-foot location at 720 W. Main St. The staff, hours of operation and services remain the same.

Shiloh Chiropractic has broken ground on a new building down the road from its current spot at 1207 Frank Scott Parkway East in Shiloh. The new site is anticipated to open by early next year.

Wisper ISP in Belleville has been selected among the “Future 50” by St. Louis Small Business Monthly based on nominations received from readers. The metro-east wireless company was established in October 2003. The company has since expanded and bought out competitors in providing wireless Internet and cable service to municipalities, companies and healthcare providers such as BJC. The company will be formally recognized at an awards ceremony Aug. 19 at the Hilton Frontenac Hotel.

And finally, Illinois residents fly to Florida more than any other destination for vacation.
