We’re searching for the best Christmas light displays in southwestern Illinois
Do you or your metro-east neighbors put up a dazzling holiday light display? Have you found a favorite local spot to go enjoy festive lights?
The holiday season is upon us, and along with decorating, baking and gift-giving, one popular tradition for many is strolling or driving through light displays for some Yuletide fun. Belleville-area residents may be familiar with popular local displays like the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snow’s annual Christmas display, but we’re looking for even more options for our readers.
We’re searching for the best holiday light displays in southwestern Illinois to compile in a guide for our readers, to be published in early December.
Please fill out our Google Form to tell us where your favorite display is or nominate yourself or a neighbor. You can also email mhoward@bnd.com with the information. If you have a photo of the display we can use for publication, please share that, too.
If you’re looking for inspiration, two Illinois families competed in last year’s ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight, including one from Batavia and one from Chester. Although neither family won their episode, they put on some impressive displays, featuring repurposed materials and bright, festive colors.
