A Missouri-based beauty supply, services company to close metro-east stores
Beauty Brands, a Kansas City, Missouri-based company specializing in salon services and beauty products, will close multiple stores later this month, including locations in the metro-east.
The last day of business for the closing store locations, including those in Shiloh and Edwardsville, will be Sunday, Dec. 28.
An on-duty shift manager at the Shiloh store confirmed that all St. Louis-area stores are among those slated to close. She was unable to provide the official reason for the closures.
News of the local closings began circulating on social media last week, as some Beauty Brands stylists posted updates and shared new locations where their clients can find them.
Earlier this week, a Kansas news outlet reported the pending closure of the Lawrence, Kansas, store, which has operated for nearly 30 years.
A request for comment from Beauty Brands’ media relations department is pending.

Beauty Brands was founded in 1995 by Bob Bernstein, according to the company’s website.
It was sold in 2013 to a private California-based company.
The Kansas City Star reported in December 2018 that the brand would close 25 of its locations and scale down the staff at its Kansas City headquarters. Weeks later, in early January 2019, Beauty Brands filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Bernstein family was able to reacquire the business in 2019.
The Shiloh location opened at 3110 Green Mount Crossing Drive in March 2004. Edwardsville welcomed a location at 6659 Edwardsville Crossing Drive in 2007.
