O’Fallon police arrest ‘person of interest;’ coroner IDs 72-year-old victim
UPDATE 1/2/26: The spelling of the victim’s first name has been corrected in this article after authorities released additional information in this case.
A woman was found dead in her O’Fallon home Saturday afternoon and a “person of interest” was arrested, authorities said.
Terrie F. Nguyen, 72, of the 1300 block of Bossler Lane was identified as the victim, according St. Clair County court records and St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Dye said he could not release the apparent cause of death because the O’Fallon Police Department is actively investigating the case. She was pronounced deceased at the scene and an autopsy will be conducted, he said.
Since charges had not been filed as of Saturday evening, the name of the person of interest was not released.
O’Fallon police responded about 1:30 p.m. to a home in the 1300 block of Bossler Lane and found a woman dead inside the home, according to a news release.
“This appears to be an isolated incident, and we do not believe there is a continued risk to the community,” the news release stated. “This is an ongoing investigation; additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call O’Fallon Police Lt. Patrick Feldhake at 618-624-9508.
