Less than a week before her birthday, a 35-year-old Troy woman has died from injuries suffered in a traffic crash Wednesday near O’Fallon, the St. Clair County coroner said.

Cesilie N. Huebner of Ellington Drive in Troy was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said.

Huebner’s 36th birthday would have been next Tuesday.

An autopsy will be conducted and Dye said the apparent cause of death was blunt trauma.

Dye said the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the crash on Scott Troy Road at the intersection with Hagemann Road, which is the name of the cross street on the east side of Scott Troy Road. On the west side of the intersection, the street is known as O’Fallon Troy Road.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s department could not be reached for comment.

The St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency announced at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday that the crash had caused officials to close the intersection of Scott Troy Road and O’Fallon Troy Road near the east side of O’Fallon.
