Bring a jacket, it’s going to be much cooler Wednesday
Much cooler temperatures are on the way for the metro-east Wednesday.
The high is expected to reach only 73, according to the National Weather Service. That’s 15 degrees cooler than the average high temperature of 88 for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
There is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with rain likely before 10 a.m. A break from wet weather is expected from the late morning until about 1 p.m., when the potential of a shower could return.
Wednesday night, the low will be 55 and there is a 50 percent chance of showers.
The rain is expected to clear up by about 1 a.m. Thursday morning. During the day, skies will be sunny with a high of 79.
It will be mostly clear Thursday night with a low of 58.
Skies will be sunny Friday with a high of 83. A few clouds will move in Friday night with a low of 63.
The extended forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and a high temperature of 83 both Saturday and Sunday.
