Construction worker hit, killed by speeding driver in Shiloh is identified

A construction worker died Saturday afternoon after being hit in a Shiloh construction work zone.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Murphy Rogers, 50, of East St. Louis.

The accident involved a driver speeding in the construction zone at Air Mobility Drive south of Maple Street in Shiloh, Dye said.

Shiloh Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dye pronounced Rogers dead at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. An autopsy is pending.
