Did you miss the heat last week? It’s coming back

After a week of cooler than usual temperatures, things are going to heat back up in the metro-east.

The high will climb to 88 Monday when there will be a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. That’s right at the average high for Aug 31 in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Storms aren’t expected to be severe. But it is possible that they could contain heavy downpours of rain.

The overnight low Monday will be 70 under partly cloudy skies.

Skies will be mostly sunny Tuesday with a high of 90. The low Tuesday night will be 69 and it will be partly cloudy.

The high will reach 91 Wednesday when skies will be mostly sunny.

Wednesday night skies will be mostly clear with a low of 70.
