Temperatures are expected to remain near record highs for the rest of the holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast for today is mostly sunny in the metro-east. The high will be near 93, six degrees short of the record of 99 set on Sept. 6, 1990.
Later tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 71.
Labor Day also looks to bring mostly sunny weather, with a high near 92. Monday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
It is not likely to rain on the holiday, with only a 5 percent chance of precipitation. That changes on Tuesday, with a 55 percent chance of precipitation. Thunderstorms are expected.
