IDOT to conduct bridge work along Illinois 15 in Alorton

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to begin road work on Monday along Illinois 15 near Illinois 163 and Interstate 255 in Alorton, weather permitting.

One lane in each direction will remain open until work is completed, IDOT said. A temporary barrier wall will be used to guide traffic through the work zone.

The $700,000 project is needed to complete repairs to the bridge over the railroad tracks to the west of Illinois 163, said IDOT engineer Joe Gassaway.

Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 30.
