Rockwood Summit wins Belleville East marching band competition

Rockwood Summit High School won the overall grand championship Saturday at the 11th annual Belleville East Marching Invitational band competition.

The overall grand championship goes to the band that earns the highest score in any size class.

Rockwood Summit also took overall first place in the class 4A division, followed by Edwardsville High School; Francis Howell North of St. Charles, Mo.; Jefferson City High School of Missouri; Alton High School; and McCluer North High School of Florissant, Mo.

In the class 3A division, Highland High School took overall first place, followed by Wesclin High School and Centralia High School.

Francis Howell North won the Leroy Kirsch Crowd Appeal Award.
