Don’t Miss This: Bull charges through East St. Louis

Don’t miss these top stories Monday on BND.com:

▪  No Bull! Police spent time over the weekend searching for a missing bull in East St. Louis. The animal, which was one of two that escaped from a Caseyville pasture, was shot two or three times by officers but still managed to run away into the city.

▪  Caseyville police department veteran Scott Miller was remembered by metro-east residents over the weekend as they observed National Thank a Police Officer Day and participated in the Paint Illinois Blue campaign. Miller died in his squad car last week of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

▪  School district leaders across the state are rallying around Gov. Bruce Rauner’s efforts to end unfunded mandates they say drive up the cost of education for local taxpayers.

▪  A win, but at what cost? The St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday were able to salvage one game of their weekend series against the Chicago Cubs. But it came at a high price, catcher Yadier Molina was injured tagging out the potential tying run in the eighth inning.
