Gas leak blamed for East St. Louis house explosion

No one was injured late Thursday when a house in East St. Louis exploded.

The blast leveled a home at about 9 p.m. in the 1800 block of Trendley Avenue, near Dunbar Elementary School.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation. Firefighters said they believe it was caused by a natural gas leak.
