IDOT plans nighttime closures along I-255

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have nighttime lane closures on northbound Interstate 255 at the ramp onto eastbound Illinois 15 and the ramp onto eastbound Interstate 64.

Work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, weather permitting.

Ramps are scheduled to close at 9 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following day, IDOT said.

Workers plan to construct new high-friction pavement. Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 9, IDOT said.

A marked detour will be used to direct traffic around the overnight closures.
