Noodles & Co. opens in Shiloh

The first Noodles & Co. has opened in the metro-east.

The Broomfield, Colo.-based restaurant chain opened Thursday at the Green Mount Crossing shopping center, where it aims to “serve fresh food fast” with an assortment of pastas, soups, salads and sandwiches.

You can also find more Noodles & Co. restaurants across the river in St. Louis, Creve Coeur, Mo.; Des Peres, Mo.; and Chesterfield, Mo.

New bakery opens

A Mascoutah baker will bake you custom-ordered baked goods from her home. Liz Toepser has opened a licensed and insured home bakery — Lizzie Bob’s Sweets From Scratch. She offers a wide variety of custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cookie cakes, cake pops, pies, brownies, sweet breads, nostalgic treats, dog biscuits and even birthday cupcakes for dogs. Christkindlmarkt returns

The German Christmas market is returning for a second holiday season in downtown Belleville. Bavarian and other international merchants and artisans will be selling their crafts, goods and foods at the Belleville Christkindlmarkt, which is open from Nov. 27 to Dec. 23 at the Public Square.

Boutique, studio opens

A new massage boutique and art studio will soon open under one roof in downtown Belleville. Shelia’s Massage A Wellness Boutique is planning to open its doors at 1 S. Church St. by the end of next month. The studio will also be a place to display and sell local artist’s work. Stay tuned.

Schnucks changes

And finally, interior redecoration is underway at Schnucks in Swansea. The grocery store at 2665 N. Illinois St. is remodeling the perimeter walls and converting the former video rental at the front of the store into a storage area.
