Citizens Utility Board to analyze utility, phone bills
The Citizens Utility Board has scheduled a free clinic to analyze utility bills and phones to help Fairview Heights-area residents save potentially hundreds of dollars a year.
Consumers may bring their gas, electric and phone bills for a free, one-on-one consultation with a CUB expert, who will search for ways to lower their utility costs, the non-profit organization said. CUB’s utility-bill clinic is being co-sponsored by State Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea.
CUB plans to give consumers information on:
▪ How to spot unnecessary charges on natural gas, electric and phone bills.
▪ Energy efficiency programs and rebates that can help people cut their utility bills.
▪ Utility rates and making the right choices in the electric market.
▪ CUB services, including its toll-free consumer hotline, 1-800-669-5556.
Attendees should bring their utility bills to allow a CUB expert to analyze them.
