Business Briefing: Lotawata Creek reopens

Lotawata Creek Southern Grill has reopened in Fairview Heights after a June 20 fire forced the restaurant to close.

The fire was started by a gas line rupture inside the kitchen at 311 Salem Place. The kitchen was damaged and equipment had to be replaced.

New Twitter Chief Executive Officer Jack Dorsey is slashing costs by laying off up to 336 employees. The cutbacks could reach as high as 4,100, or 8 percent of Twitter’s staff. Read more here.

Johnson & Johnson is reporting falling sales of its hepatitis C drug, which has led to a 29 percent plunge in the company’s third-quarter earnings.
