MetroLink passengers who use the Stadium MetroLink Station in St. Louis won’t be able to use the south entrance, which has been closed to accommodate the reconstruction of the Spruce Street Bridge.
The south entrance from Spruce Street was shut down Tuesday, and will remain closed for several months, Bi-State Development said.
During the temporary closure, MetroLink passengers will need to use the stairs and ramps on Clark Avenue at the north end of the station to access the Stadium MetroLink Station platform.
The Spruce Street Bridge was built in 1935 and is 36 feet long. The bridge needs to be replaced to address age-related structural issues, Bi-State said.
The bridge and the south entrance to the Stadium MetroLink Station, are expected to reopen prior the 2016 Cardinals home opener in April, Bi-State said.
