Much-needed rain expected Friday

The metro-east is likely to get some much-needed rain Friday.

There is a 70 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms in the forecast all day and through the evening, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature will be 74 and the overnight low will drop to 62.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms will decrease to 40 percent Saturday when the high will be 71.

Wet weather will begin to break up Saturday afternoon and skies will become mostly cloudy during the evening. The overnight low will drop to 48.

It will be mostly sunny Sunday with a high of 65. Sunday night, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 43.
