A streak of dry and warmer than usual weather is about to come to an end for metro-east residents.
Skies will be mostly sunny during the day Monday with a high of 68, according to the National Weather Service.
But a cold front will move in overnight Monday into Tuesday, bringing the likelihood of a dose of rain with it.
The low Monday night will be 53 with a 40 percent chance of showers late.
On Tuesday, the chance of occasional showers or possibly a thunderstorm will increase to 90 percent. The high temperature will reach 63. That’s about two degrees cooler than the average high temperature for this time of year in the St. Louis area, 65.
The chance of rain will decrease to 70 percent Tuesday night with a low of 54.
On Wednesday, the chance of showers will decrease to 60 percent with a high of 67.
Skies will become partly cloudy Wednesday night with a low of 42.
