▪  Controversy in Cahokia. Mayor Curtis McCall Jr. ordered police to remove Trustee Terry Nichols from a Village Board meeting when Nichols refused to stop questioning McCall about city finances.

▪  Now that’s a drug bust! A New Mexico Couple was nabbed in Madison County allegedly in possession of enough heroin and cocaine to put them behind bars for more than a century if they are convicted. Police said they had 23 pounds of heroin and 10 pounds of cocaine in their vehicle when they were stopped on Interstate 70.

▪  A Belleville man faces a first-degree murder charge after a man he allegedly stabbed Saturday night died Monday in a St. Louis hospital.
