Sunny and cool early this week, storms later

Sunny skies and cool weather are expected for the early part of the work week in the metro-east.

But strong storms could follow, according to the National Weather Service.

The high Monday will be 57 under sunny skies.

Monday night, the low will drop to 37 and skies will remain mostly clear.

Sunny skies will be back Tuesday with a high of about 63.

A few clouds will start to move into the area Tuesday night when the low will be 50.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely after noon Wednesday. Likelihood of wet weather is 70 percent.

Wind gusts of up to 31 mph are expected during the afternoon when the high will reach 67.

Wednesday night, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will decrease to 40 percent and the low will drop to 45.
