Millstadt residents must boil water

Low water levels are leading Millstadt to issue a village-wide boil order until further notice.

If water pressure drops below a certain point, impurities can enter the water distribution system and an order to boil drinking water is issued.

Before it can be safely consumed, water must come to a vigorous boil for five minutes to kill impurities. Coffee makers and similar devices do not heat water adequately to produce safe water.

Village leaders will issue a notice after water samples are tested and come back clear.
