Heavy Tuesday rain could cause flash floods

A flash flood watch is in effect for the metro-east Tuesday with more heavy rain expected.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be 68 with winds up to 16 mph from the southeast.

Rain is likely to be heavy Tuesday night when the low will be 53. Winds will increase in intensity with gusts of up to 32 mph.

On Wednesday there is a 30 percent chance of additional rain with the most likely time for wet weather coming before noon. Skies will become mostly cloudy by the afternoon with gusty winds of up to 21 mph. The high will be 61.

Wednesday night, skies will be partly cloudy with a low of 39.

Sunshine is expected to return Thursday when the high will be 55. Thursday night, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 34.
