Expect a sunny start to work week, rainy holiday

Next week is expected to be mostly sunny leading up to the holiday, but there will be a chance of showers on Thanksgiving Day in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service.

From Sunday to Tuesday, the forecast is for sunny weather. The high temperature Sunday will be near 40, with a low around 30. Monday, the high will reach 53, with a low around 32.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be warmer, with a high near 55 and 56, respectively. The low Tuesday will be around 40.

Clouds are expected to roll in Wednesday, and there is a 20 percent chance of showers Wednesday night, when the low temperature will be around 48. The chance of showers increases to 40 percent for Thanksgiving Day, on Thursday, when it is expected to be cloudy with a high near 60.

Showers are even more likely Thursday night, when the low temperature will be around 45. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
