Warmer than usual temperatures for metro-east, rain likely by Thanksgiving

A warming trend will continue Tuesday for the metro-east.

The high will reach 61 under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. That’s about 11 degrees warmer than the average high for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area, 50.

The low will drop to 39 Tuesday night under partly cloudy skies.

On Wednesday, clouds will increase throughout the day with a high of 59 expected. Winds will gust at up to 18 mph.

Skies will become mostly cloudy by Wednesday night with a 20 percent chance of rain arriving around midnight. The low will be 50.

The chance of rain will increase to 40 percent Thursday for Thanksgiving Day. The high will be 62 with winds gusting from the south at up to 16 mph.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain Thursday night when the low will be 50.
