Much warmer than usual temperatures this week in metro-east
Patchy fog could slow the Monday morning commute in the metro-east.
The fog is expected to burn off by about 10 a.m. After that, skies will be cloudy in the morning but will thin out as the day goes on. Skies will eventually become partly sunny, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperature will be 50.
It will be mostly clear Monday night with a low of 36.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be much warmer than usual for early December with the high expected to match the all-time record for the date, 59, which was set in 1970.
That’s about 14 degrees warmer than usual for Dec. 8 in the St. Louis metropolitan area, 45.
Skies will be mostly sunny with winds out of the south at up to 11 mph.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain Tuesday night when the low will be 43.
It will be even warmer Wednesday with a high of 61 expected under mostly sunny skies. That’s two degrees short of the record for the date, 63, set 45 years ago.
Wednesday night it will be partly cloudy with a low of 42.
