IDOT plans work on Thursday along parts of I-55
The Illinois Department of Transportation on Thursday plans to have two sets of lane restrictions along Interstate 55.
IDOT plans to close the left lane along the collector-distributor lanes heading towards Exit 1 of eastbound I-55/64 beginning near the ramp to Illinois 3 and ending near the Third Street overpass in East St Louis.
The left lane closure is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, and will allow workers to perform pavement repairs, IDOT said.
IDOT also is planning lane restrictions on westbound I-55/70, about three miles west of I-255, at mile marker 6 near the Illinois 111 interchange.
The right lane is scheduled to be closed between 9 a.m and 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Workers plan to repair a bridge expansion joint and pavement on the bridge approach, IDOT said.
