Unseasonably high temperatures remain through the weekend
Dense fog could make travel difficult for metro-east commuters Friday morning.
Visibility is down to a quarter mile in spots, according to the National Weather Service. The fog, which is expected to burn off by about 10 a.m., is especially an issue in the southeast part of the region.
Skies will be cloudy Friday with a 20 percent chance of rain between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The high will be about 64, one degree high of the all-time record for the date, 65, set in 1996.
It will be mostly cloudy Friday night with a low of 56.
On Saturday, skies will be mostly cloudy with a high of 70. That’s five degrees warmer than the record high temperature for the date of 65 set it 1990.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday night when the low will be 60.
On Sunday, there is a 100 percent chance of rain with heavy downpours at times. The high will be 69, that’s three degrees warmer that the record of 66 set in 1969.
The extended forecast calls for highs in the 50s at the start of the workweek.
