It’s not beginning to feel a lot like Christmas: Highs in 50s, 60s this week
Much warmer than usual temperatures are back in the metro-east for the upcoming week.
The high Monday will be 61 with a 60 percent chance of isolated showers, according to the National Weather Service. That’s 21 degrees warmer than the average high temperature of the first day of winter in the St. Louis metropolitan area, 40.
The mostly likely time for rain comes before 11 a.m. After that, the chance of showers falls to 20 percent.
Monday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 36.
Skies will be partly sunny Tuesday with a high of 53.
Tuesday night, the low will be 50 with a 20 percent chance of rain during the evening. The likelihood of precipitation increases to 60 percent by midnight.
There is an 80 percent chance of rain Wednesday, when the high will be 66. It would shatter the record high for the date, 59, set in 1988.
Wednesday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers with a low of 41.
The extended forecast calls for a high of 55 with mostly sunny skies Christmas Eve on Thursday. The low will be 39.
On Christmas day, the high will be 56 with a 20 percent of rain. The overnight low will be 48.
