▪ Police say a couple lured a coworker to his death in Madison County before his body was discovered in the trunk of a Cadillac during a police chase.
George Tillman, 31, of Belleville, crashed at 7 p.m. Thursday near the Brooklyn police station after he fled from an attempted traffic stop. As police searched his car, the bullet-riddled body of 45-year-old Roderick Taylor was found in the trunk.
Tillman and Ashley Bonner, 26, of Granite City, were both charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery.

▪ A former metro-east teacher pleaded guilty Monday to child molestation charges.
Jason Ehlers, 38, of Bethalto, admitted to abusing eight children over the course of three years. He pleaded guilty to one count of predatory sexual assault of a child, one count of sexual assault, three counts of aggravated sexual abuse -- all felonies -- and three counts of misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a child.
Prosecutors have asked for a sentence of 35 years.
